Gecko for Long-Term Investors

Your whole book, in one view. With a coach reading over your shoulder.

Gecko started as a behavioral trading journal. The Portfolio Analyzer extends the same idea to a long-horizon book. Connect your brokers (or upload a statement), and every card on /app/portfolio fills in with your real holdings — asset and sector allocation, concentration warnings, upcoming earnings and dividends, snapshot-derived risk and returns, and a Sonnet-written quarterly-review paragraph you’d recognize from a private-bank statement.

No trades required. If you buy and hold, we grade the book. If you actively rotate, the same page reads harder because it’s wired to Investment Cases, Trade Replay, and the Live Session Monitor. All from the same $12 / month Pro tier, all under one login.

What you get

Holdings across every broker
One book view over Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, E*TRADE, Robinhood, IBKR, and 15+ other SnapTrade-connected brokers. Cash sleeves, options, and ETFs all show up correctly with cost basis, market value, and unrealized P&L per line.
Asset + sector allocation
A donut for asset class (equities / ETFs / options / crypto / cash) and a ranked bar for sector exposure (invested-only, so cash doesn't distort the mix). GICS-style bucketing from Polygon metadata.
Concentration warnings
Auto-flagged when a single name crosses 15% or 25% of the book, or when your top 5 positions are 70%+ of invested value. The write-up frames the trade-off, not a directive.
Snapshot-derived risk & returns
MTD, YTD, 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y returns. Annualized volatility, Sharpe (vs 4% risk-free), max drawdown with peak/trough/recovery dates, and best/worst day. Numbers accrue from daily snapshots — 90-day history unlocks the full pane.
Upcoming earnings + dividends + splits
60-day calendar per holding with color-coded days-until badges (amber ≤ 2d, teal ≤ 7d). Earnings AMC/BMO timing tag and consensus EPS when available. Dividends surface projected cash based on your share count.
Projected annual income
Trailing-12-month dividend rate × current shares, per top payer + book total. Yield-on-cost and yield-on-price so a long-held payer shows the compounding you earned by holding.
Behavioral overlays
Large positions without a written Investment Case get flagged for thesis documentation. Positions underwater 25%+ trigger a thesis-review nudge. The Gecko differentiator over a plain aggregator.
AI portfolio review
One quarterly-analyst-style paragraph, Sonnet-generated, grounded strictly in your numbers. Regenerate on demand. Cached daily. Educational commentary, never personalized advice.
Investment Cases
Write your thesis before you enter — targets, stop, catalysts, risks. Gecko critiques it as a peer analyst, sets price alerts that push to your phone, and rolls up your realized P&L per case.

How it fits with the rest of Gecko

Gecko is not four tools stitched together — the surfaces cross-reference each other, and the Portfolio Analyzer is the newest joinery.

How Gecko compares to what else is out there

Two adjacent categories exist — a plain-portfolio aggregator and a trader-side journal — and both leave holes for the long-term investor.

Data you connect (and what stays yours)

Broker auto-sync runs on read-only OAuth via SnapTrade — your broker password never crosses Gecko. You can revoke access from Settings any time. Free tier keeps the always-available statement-upload path if you’d rather not connect anything.

Market data (current prices, ticker names, sectors, upcoming dividends and splits) comes from Polygon.io. Earnings dates are optional, gated on a Financial Modeling Prep API key on our side. Neither vendor sees which user viewed which ticker.

The AI portfolio review is generated by Anthropic Claude. Only a short summary of your allocation + concentration + returns is sent — not the raw holdings table.

Try the Portfolio Analyzer on your own book

Free tier includes the full analyzer, up to 100 trade uploads, and the Daily Coach loop. Pro adds read-only broker auto-sync for $12/month.

Gecko is an educational tool. It does not provide personalized investment advice, recommend specific trades, or manage your money.
